Calgary, Alberta

A place surrounded

by foothills in some directions,

prairies in some directions,

hills and mountains in some.

A place so flat

the horizon is always visible

and that horizon

is always round.

A place which reminds us

that rather than poles

moving

     in straight or crooked lines,

our world and its parts

are processes:

layered,

overlapping,

coming

full circle

from breathing for breadth (TSAR: 2005, 111)

  1. Excellent poem, and indeed, our world can be one of unity if we could all see it as you’ve described it.

    Peace,

    Frank
