Ballerina

 Bare-backed

he rode himself

Clear-faced

he saw past himself

Naked-limbed

he stroked the ground

Open-eared

he forgot himself

Skirted-pelvis

he resisted himself

Pointed-toes

he licked the sun

Stranded-arms

he unhinged himself

Silently he sang

Soundly he sounded-out

the music of his grounding

Still

he discovered

the expanse of his dance.

from breathing for breadth
