Taste 2…

Yen for the Americas

Wandering

he found

sound:

hands meeting a drum,

crickets meeting city-night,

waters rush-rush-shing together

at the tip of a piece of land:

memorial park commemorating war and trade

memorial park built atop someone else’s burial ground.

Opening

he began to listen

at the tip

of a piece of land

jutting into a place

where two rivers meet.

from breathing for breadth
